Play Report

Ran my home game the other night. Four players, my partner, two siblings and a not nibling.

We started the session by leveling everyone up from 1 to 2. We're using GLOG hack rules of my own making. Everyone chose to stay pure class, no dips yet.

We'd just finished Tomb of the Serpent King; nothing much to say there. I don't think I ran that very well and I don't think anyone had a very good time aside form the Basilisk.

Clyde the Filthy Pig Orc - Pig Orc Fighter

Xixi¹ - Gnoll Druidess

Cunt² - ? Druidess

The Red³ - Fae Sorceress

Started the session off by hitching a ride with a trade wagon headed for a local mining town, creatively named "Deepmine". The husband Harold was a nice enough man, old and fat with a penchant for sleight of hand tricks, but the wife - Quinn - was jealous and suspicious of the new comers. She kept a watchful eye on them and didn't engage in conversation at all. Harold and Quinn charged them each an exorbitant rate for their ride and nobody seemed to notice in character - out of character Clyde the Pig Orc told me to fuck off and stop trying to rip them off.

Once they landed in Deepmine, Clyde set out to find a local healer, hoping to procure some potions and poultices.

Xixi and Cunt went to generally explore and later to confront Quinn about her rudeness.

The Red was content to stroll around town, taking in the sights.

Clyde found the healer, but she was a sickly young girl trying to charge absurdly high prices for even a single potion. He found the inn and went to see what the local happenings were, but was sadly disappointed to find it more or less empty. The bar man told him business had been slow since a young girl had been kidnapped in the night and taken down the towns well by who knows what. After enquiring about room prices, Clyde found the inn to be much the same as the cart man and the healer and instead bedded down for the night.

Cunt spent most of her time in Deepmine petting the local stray cats and dogs; not caring to spend time with strangers.

Xixi did indeed hunt Quinn down and, after hearing about the trouble the town seemed to be having with what they thought to be a witch in the woods, formulated a plan to deal with her. The townsfolk have been hearing screaming in the woods for days, bodies have been falling from trees, mutilated. The townsfolk are sure this is a witch and want the party to go kill it.

The Red spent the evening not sleeping, instead watching the townsfolk. She saw a couple grieving at the well and correctly identified them as the parents of the missing girl, Alsace Macnamera. She listened to them, but didn't take much of what they said to heart. She thought they sounded as most parents do, clueless to the real going ons of their children. She was far more interested in a young girl lurking around the well that night. The girl looked to be the same age as The Red had been told Alsace was. She was as it turned out, and the two girls were best friends. She learned that Alsace had a huge crush on the  apprentice, Flick, to the local Black Smith, Darcy.

The Red spent several hours with the girl, picking up that there she and the family were both upset that not much seemed to be getting done about her missing friend. She also learned that the they'd confirmed Alsace had been taken down the well because her blue dress and favorite locket were laying beside the well the next morning when everyone awoke. Locket set atop dress in a neat little pie. When The Red asked more about that the girl seemed to get flustered, said she didn't know, and told The Red to leave her alone.

The party agreed to check things out with the Witch in the woods, but first they had to get transportation. Xixi and Cunt decided together that the best plan would be to lure Harold and Quinn out of the city with a transportation of whatever spoils they got from raiding the witch's lair/hideout/hut, murder them, mutilate their bodies in a similar fashion to the corpses that have been falling from trees and get away scott free. Clyde the Filthy Pig Orc was very against this plan both in and out of character, but went along with it in the end, and The Red seemed to be neutral.

The pair of Druid women murdered the merchants and mutilated their bodies then stuffed them in a tree just before encountering a massive mountain lion. The Druid women used their Beast Speech while The Red made feline submissive gestures to try to win the mountain lion over. Through their Beast Speech the Druids gathered that the mountain lion wanted them to follow him. He led them back to the witch's hut where Xixi had to be talked out of stealing everything that wasn't nailed down before they helped treat the witch for something akin to a stroke or seizures.

The Druids then whipped up a healing concoction from the ingredients in the witch's hut and the party stayed with her for a few days as she regained her strength.

Once she was awake, the party had questions about the witch and the mountain lion. They learned that the mountain lion is the witch's Familiar and that while he generally did not feed on humans, he was out of sorts when the witch was incapacitated. I'm considering making him a Spirit of Hunger or something similar. Clyde the Filth Pig Orc had a few questions about the nature of Familiar's and their connection with their Practitioner, being a simple man of the war hammer himself, which the witch was happy to answer.

And now I have small magical reward and a name for the mountain lion to make up.
